Dum Event Ltd · Last updated: 24 August 2026

The short version: we collect the information you choose to give us when you ask about a project, we use it to answer you and to deliver the work, and we do not sell it to anyone. We use website analytics to understand how visitors use this site, and we only send marketing to people who have asked for it. The detail is below. Questions to [email protected].

01Who We Are

Dum Event Ltd, of Unit 8, West Point Business Park, Harlow CM20 2BU is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. We design, build and deliver exhibition stands and related event services across the UK, Europe and the Middle East.

02What We Collect

We collect personal information only when you give it to us:

  • Enquiries and quote requests. When you use a form on this site or email us directly, we receive what you send: typically your name, company, email address, phone number and the details of your show and project (venue, dates, stand size, budget range and brief).
  • Correspondence. Emails, calls and messages exchanged while we discuss or deliver a project, including the contact details of the people we work with on your side.
  • Business records. Contract, invoicing and delivery records naming the people involved in a project, kept as part of running the business.

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and our services are aimed at businesses.

03How This Website Behaves

  1. Analytics. We use a website analytics service to measure how this site is used: which pages are visited, how visitors arrive and roughly where they are located. This helps us understand what works and improve the site. Analytics uses cookies or similar technologies; where the law requires it, they are only set with your consent, and you can refuse or withdraw that consent without losing access to anything on the site. The statistics we see are about site usage, not about you as an identified person.
  2. Forms. The enquiry forms on this site open your own email application with your answers pre-filled. Nothing you type reaches us, or anyone else, unless you choose to send that email yourself.
  3. Third-party hosts. Some page assets load from third parties: web fonts from Google Fonts and certain images from an external image host. When your browser fetches those files, the host sees your IP address as part of serving them, as with any file loaded from the web. We do not pass them anything about you.

04Why We Use Your Information

We use the information above to:

  • respond to your enquiry and prepare concepts, proposals and quotations (our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, and the steps needed before entering a contract);
  • perform a contract with you: design, production, venue submissions, delivery, on-site support and dismantling;
  • keep accounting and business records we are legally required to keep;
  • stay in touch about a project we have delivered or discussed;
  • send you occasional updates and marketing about our work, but only where you have ticked the marketing box on one of our forms or otherwise asked us to. You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing [email protected], and every marketing message from us tells you how to stop the next one.

05Who We Share It With

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only where delivering your project requires it:

  • with the controlled workshops, suppliers and crews involved in producing and installing your stand, limited to what they need to do the work;
  • with venues and show organisers where submissions, approvals, passes or accreditation require named contacts;
  • with our professional advisers, insurers or authorities where the law requires it.

06International Transfers

Projects are managed from London, and production may run through workshops in Europe and the Middle East. Where a project is delivered outside the UK, the information shared with the teams involved is limited to what that delivery requires, and we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled securely wherever the work takes place.

07How Long We Keep It

Enquiry correspondence is kept for as long as a future project makes it useful, and deleted on request. Contract, accounting and delivery records are kept for the periods UK law requires, typically six years after the end of the relevant financial year, and then disposed of.

08Your Rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy in a portable format. Write to [email protected] and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to resolve the matter directly first.

09Changes to This Policy

If we change how this website or our business handles personal information, for example by adding a form service or analytics, this policy will be updated before the change goes live, and the date at the top of the page will show when it last happened.
