Exhibition Stand Manufacturer: Who Actually Builds Your Stand
Dum Event is the manufacturer, not a broker that passes your brief to someone else's workshop: a London-led design and build company that produces exhibition stands in custom wooden construction and as DUM FLEX™ modular systems, built through our own warehouse and controlled regional workshops. A 55 m² double-decker stand for Turkish Technic at MRO Europe and a 45 m² DUM FLEX stand for EKA Elevator at UK Construction Week London were both made this way, by the same team that designed them.

Why the word manufacturer matters more than it looks
A lot of exhibition stand companies design and then hand the build to someone else's factory. That changes who answers when a panel does not fit or a finish does not match the drawing.
What a manufacturer is responsible for
When the same company designs and manufactures a stand, the drawing and the thing standing on the show floor are made by people who answer to each other directly. There is no handover gap where a change gets lost, no second company to chase if a joint is wrong, and no price added by a middle layer that did not touch the materials. That is the difference we mean when we call ourselves an exhibition stand manufacturer rather than a design studio.
Where accountability sits
What we can say with certainty: a London studio and workshop that we control directly, and regional workshops that work exclusively for Dum Event on international builds. One line of responsibility from the drawing to the show floor, wherever the build happens. Where that production happens, and why, is below.
Exhibition stand manufacturers UK: London studio, controlled regional workshops
Design, technical drawing and project management sit in one place. Production moves closer to the show.
Our studio, warehouse, graphics production and DUM FLEX™ stock are run from our operational site in Harlow. Every discovery brief, 3D concept, technical drawing and organiser submission for a UK, European or Middle East show originates from there, and for a UK show, the stand is usually manufactured from there too. For shows outside the UK, shipping a finished stand across a continent helps nobody, so we manufacture through workshops in the region of the event that work exclusively for Dum Event, under our drawings and quality control, and a Dum Event project manager travels to every international build to run the install.
What we actually manufacture: two different routes, not one catalogue
"Exhibition stand manufacturer" covers two different production processes here, and we tell you which one a design needs before a drawing is sent to the workshop.
Bespoke stands in custom wooden construction
Raw, laminated and painted MDF cut and built to the drawing, with no obligation to fit a frame grid: walls, floors, counters, curved surfaces and shaped elements made for one design. The Turkish Technic double-decker at MRO Europe, 55 m² with custom-painted surfaces and an LED propeller display, was produced this way. Our bespoke stands page covers the process from design to production.
DUM FLEX, manufactured as a modular system
An engineered aluminium frame built and stocked in our own warehouse, finished with tensioned fabric graphics and extended with custom wooden elements where a design needs them. EKA Elevator's 45 m² stand at UK Construction Week London, with LED strip lighting integrated directly into the profiles, was manufactured and finished this way. The modular stands page explains the system.
A UK-registered manufacturer: Companies House, Made in Britain, one address
Entity checks matter when you are trusting a stand to a company you have not met in person.
Who you are actually dealing with
Dum Event Ltd is registered with Companies House (number 14775437) and operates from Unit 8, West Point Business Park, West Road, Harlow CM20 2BU, where the studio, warehouse and DUM FLEX™ stock sit. You can check both before you sign anything.
What Made in Britain membership means here
We are a member of Made in Britain, built on 17+ years of industry experience behind the team. The Harlow site is where our UK manufacturing sits, registered with Companies House and checkable against the Made in Britain directory.
We also manufacture from a design that is not ours
Bring a brief and we design and manufacture the stand. Bring a design from your own team or agency and we manufacture that instead.
What we check before the workshop touches it
A design from an agency or an in-house team gets reviewed technically against the construction route, the venue rules and the budget before it reaches the workshop, and we say what has to change to build it, if anything does.
Where the responsibility sits
The design credit stays where it belongs; the manufacturing responsibility, the materials, the quality control and the install, is ours.
Send us a brief →Exhibition stand manufacturer: the questions we get asked
Is Dum Event a manufacturer or a design agency?
Both, under one roof. We design the stand and then manufacture it ourselves, in custom wooden construction or as DUM FLEX™, rather than handing production to a separate factory.
Do you manufacture exhibition stands in the UK?
Yes. UK builds are manufactured through our studio and warehouse in Harlow. Dum Event Ltd is registered with Companies House and is a member of Made in Britain.
Can you manufacture a stand for a show outside the UK?
Yes, through controlled regional workshops that work exclusively for Dum Event on that build, close to the venue. Our own project manager travels to run the install.
What materials do you manufacture with?
Raw, laminated and painted MDF for bespoke custom wooden construction, and an engineered aluminium frame system with tensioned fabric graphics for DUM FLEX™. Which one suits a brief is decided at design stage.
Can you manufacture to our own design?
Yes. We review the design technically against the construction route, venue rules and budget, flag anything that needs to change to build it, and manufacture it. Agencies bring us their clients' designs on this basis.
