Exhibition Stand Builder for the Commercial Vehicle Show
The Commercial Vehicle Show runs 20–22 April 2027 in Halls 4 & 5 at the NEC Birmingham, co-located for the first time with the Bus & Coach Expo under a single visitor pass. We build exhibition stands for vehicle-led shows like this, in custom wooden construction or on our DUM FLEX™ frame, with the drawings, the organiser submissions and our own crew on site. Our most recent build in that hall is an 18 m² DUM FLEX™ stand for Bren Power at Smart Manufacturing Week, Hall 5.
Get a quote →This is a vehicle floor, not a display floor
The product on most of the plots at the Commercial Vehicle Show is a full-size van, truck or piece of fleet equipment. That changes what a stand needs to do before a single graphic goes up.
Space-only, built around a vehicle
A plot carrying a rigid truck or a panel van is usually space-only: no shell scheme to work around, a heavier floor load than a stand built for furniture and screens, and a layout that has to leave room for the vehicle itself as well as the people looking at it. We draw the stand around where the vehicle sits first, then fit the reception desk, the meeting area and the graphics into what is left, rather than the other way round.
Getting the vehicle in, and still standing out
A vehicle on the stand has to arrive and leave through the same booked delivery slots as every other exhibitor's freight, at a time that does not block the aisle while the hall is filling up around it; we plan that movement into the build and breakdown programme so it is settled on the drawing well before build-up starts. Once it is in place, a van or a truck is a genuinely large object, and the stand next to it is competing for attention with something that does not need a graphic to get noticed — height, a clean roofline and one strong message at eye level do more work here than a wall of small print.
Two shows, one pass: the Commercial Vehicle Show and the Bus & Coach Expo
For 2027 the organiser is running the Commercial Vehicle Show and the Bus & Coach Expo together, under a single visitor pass across the same halls.
One pass, two shows
The organiser's own framing for 2027 is two events on one pass, so a visitor who registered for the Commercial Vehicle Show walks past the Bus & Coach Expo stands on the same trip, and the other way round. That widens the floor your stand is seen from without widening your own plot, provided the stand is built to be read by someone who was not necessarily looking for you.
One aisle, two sectors
A visitor with one pass to both shows reads less of any single stand's messaging than someone who came for one event alone. We keep the headline of what you do to one clear line, visible from a distance, whichever side of the hall it is read from; the detail that separates a fleet buyer from a bus operator belongs in the conversation at the stand, well away from a fascia already asking to be read at a glance.
If your business sells into both sectors
Some exhibitors genuinely supply both commercial vehicle fleets and bus or coach operators, in which case the stand can carry a second graphic panel or a second product zone built to swap between the two audiences without a second build. That is a design decision we settle with you before the drawings are fixed, well before the panels go to print.
Halls 4 and 5 at the NEC Birmingham
The show sits across two halls. Hall 5 runs to a 15.5 m ceiling, among the tallest on the campus; Hall 4, next door, runs the venue's standard height. The exhibitor manual, not the roofline, sets what a stand is actually allowed to build to.
Our nearest reference in that part of the venue
Our most recent NEC project is an 18 m² DUM FLEX™ stand for Bren Power at Smart Manufacturing Week, also in Hall 5. The rigging, loading and hall rules carry across NEC shows; the Commercial Vehicle Show's own exhibitor manual, once you are appointed, sets the detail specific to a vehicle-led plot on top of that. The venue's general rules for build-up, delivery booking and storage are on our NEC Birmingham page, so we have not repeated them here.
Fleet buyers, not browsers
The organiser's own figures for the 2026 edition put the audience at close to 15,000, most of them decision-makers or key influencers on the purchase rather than there to browse.
This is a working floor: vehicle manufacturers, bodywork and trailer builders, and the fleet-technology and telematics suppliers standing between them.
A stand built for this audience is judged on qualified conversations, and we design for that outcome: product at working height, a seated area for the discussion that follows, and a build that holds up for three days of serious traffic.
Talk to us about the Commercial Vehicle Show →Exhibiting at the Commercial Vehicle Show: the questions we get asked
When and where is the Commercial Vehicle Show 2027?
20–22 April 2027, Halls 4 & 5 at the NEC Birmingham. Opening hours are 09:30–17:00 on the Tuesday and Wednesday and 09:30–15:30 on the Thursday. Dates and hall are published by the organiser on cvshow.com.
What is the Commercial Vehicle Show?
It is the UK's trade show for road freight, transport and distribution: vehicle manufacturers, bodywork and trailer builders, and fleet-technology suppliers, exhibiting to fleet managers, procurement leads and operations directors rather than the general public.
Is the Commercial Vehicle Show co-located with another event?
Yes, for 2027 it runs alongside the Bus & Coach Expo under a single visitor pass across the same NEC halls. We design the stand's messaging to read clearly to both audiences if your business sells into both sectors.
Have you built exhibition stands at the NEC Birmingham before?
Yes. Our most recent NEC project is an 18 m² DUM FLEX™ stand for Bren Power at Smart Manufacturing Week, Hall 5. The venue's rigging, loading and hall rules carry across NEC shows, and we design to the Commercial Vehicle Show's own exhibitor manual once you are appointed.
Can a stand hold its own next to a full-size vehicle on display?
Yes, but it is a different brief from a standard shell-scheme stand. Height, a clean roofline and one clear message at eye level read better next to a large vehicle than a wall of detail would; we design the sightline from the aisle past the vehicle into the stand as part of the layout from the first drawing.
How early should we appoint a stand builder for the Commercial Vehicle Show?
As soon as your plot is confirmed with the organiser, particularly if a vehicle is going on the stand: its delivery slot, the floor load and the access route all need settling on the drawing before build-up starts.
