Exhibition Stand Builder for Retail Technology Show
Retail Technology Show runs 21–22 April 2027 at ExCeL London, Halls S2–S4, with 15,000-plus retail professionals expected across payments, ecommerce, loss prevention and store operations. We build exhibition stands at ExCeL, in custom wooden construction or on our DUM FLEX™ frame, sized for a live product demo rather than a static display. Our work at this venue includes a 54 m² technology stand for Questel built around software demonstrations and a 27 m² product-led stand for Bujairami Sydney.
Get a quote →A self-checkout demo needs power and data, not just a counter
Most Retail Technology Show stands are built around a working demo — a till, a kiosk, a scanner, a screen running live software — rather than a graphic panel. The stand brief starts with what the demo needs, not with the finish.
Power, data and the back of the stand
A POS or self-checkout demo pulls its own power circuit, a wired or reliable wireless data run, and somewhere to hide the till roll, the card reader base unit and the cabling that a visitor should never see. We route that into the stand structure at the drawing stage, on custom wooden construction or inside the DUM FLEX™ frame, so the demo furniture reads as finished retail equipment and not a cart wheeled in on the morning of the show.
Where the queue goes
A working demo attracts a small queue, and a stand with nowhere for that queue to stand pushes visitors into the gangway. We plan a stand-off zone in front of the demo point itself, separate from the meeting or lounge area, so a queue of two or three people does not block the aisle or the conversation your sales team is having two metres away.
The show moved to ExCeL, and a single-level hall changes what gets noticed
Retail Technology Show moved from Olympia to ExCeL London in 2025 and now runs across Halls S2–S4 — a bigger, single-level floor with no gallery level to compete with.
No upper level to pull the eye away
At a venue with a gallery or balcony, a stand competes for attention with whatever is happening above it. ExCeL's Halls S2–S4 run as open single-level space, so the sightlines on the floor are set by neighbouring stands and the aisle layout, not by a second storey. That rewards height and a clean roofline on the stand itself over trying to out-shout the hall.
What the move means for a first-time RTS exhibitor
If you exhibited at Olympia before 2025, the hall dimensions, the rigging rules and the vehicle access are all different at ExCeL — the venue sets its own build rules independently of the organiser's move. Our ExCeL London page covers the venue's own build rules: rigging, vehicle booking and the complex-structure file for anything taller or heavier than a standard shell.
Retail Technology Show is a buying-committee event, not a single buyer
The organiser's own figures put attendees across eleven buying functions — IT, ecommerce, payments, marketing, loss prevention, finance, supply chain, profit protection, operations, HR and security — which means the person who stops at your stand is rarely the only person who signs off the purchase.
One stand, several conversations
A payments platform demo might draw a CFO one minute and a loss-prevention lead the next, and each wants a different five minutes of your team's time. We design for that by separating the open demo point from a smaller meeting or breakout space on the same footprint, so a longer, more technical conversation can run without stopping the demo for everyone else walking past.
Most RTS stands sit under 36 m², and that is a design constraint worth planning for
A two-day retail technology show rewards a stand that looks finished and well-lit in a modest footprint over one that tries to fill space it does not need.
SEG and DUM FLEX for a compact demo stand
On a sub-36 m² plot, a tension-fabric (SEG) graphic wall and our DUM FLEX™ frame give you a lit, branded backdrop, a counter for the demo hardware and a small meeting point, built and struck inside a two-day show's tight build window, ready to redeploy for your next show rather than built once and scrapped.
What we have built at this venue
The 54 m² Questel stand at INTA Annual Meeting put a software demo area and a meeting space on one DUM FLEX™ footprint; the 27 m² Bujairami Sydney stand at Tones of Beauty Expo built a product-led display in a smaller plot again, both at ExCeL London. Retail Technology Show has not been one of our projects — these two give you the same venue and the same demo-first brief.
Two show days, and no time to lose on the first morning
Retail Technology Show runs Wednesday to Thursday with no low-key opening day to iron out problems on. A demo that is not wired and tested before doors open loses half the show.
Brief and design run on calls scheduled around your hours if you are travelling in, with 3D visuals before you commit. Our workshop produces the structure, our project manager runs the ExCeL build and files whatever the venue's complex-structure rules require, and the same crew tests the demo equipment the evening before doors open, not during the first hour of trading.
Talk to us about RTS →Exhibiting at Retail Technology Show: the questions we get asked
When and where is Retail Technology Show 2027?
Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 April 2027 at ExCeL London, Halls S2–S4. Doors run 09:00–17:00 on the Wednesday and 09:00–16:30 on the Thursday, published by the organiser on retailtechnologyshow.com.
What is Retail Technology Show?
It is the UK's retail technology trade show, covering payments and POS, ecommerce, retail AI, supply chain, loss prevention and customer experience. The organiser's own figures put 2026 attendance at 15,000 retail professionals across eleven buying functions, with retailers, consumer brands and leisure and hospitality organisations attending free and technology suppliers exhibiting or buying a visitor pass.
Do you build stands under 36 m²?
Yes — most Retail Technology Show plots sit in that range, and it is where our DUM FLEX™ frame with an SEG graphic wall does the most work for the footprint: a lit backdrop, a demo counter and a small meeting point, built inside a two-day show's turnaround.
Can we run a live product or software demo on the stand?
Yes. We plan the power circuit, data run and cable routing for the demo hardware at the drawing stage, along with a stand-off area in front of it so a small queue does not spill into the gangway.
Have you built stands at ExCeL London before?
Yes, including a 54 m² DUM FLEX™ technology stand for Questel at the INTA Annual Meeting and a 27 m² product-led stand for Bujairami Sydney at Tones of Beauty Expo. We have not yet built at Retail Technology Show itself; those two projects are our closest evidence at the same venue.
Who has to pay to attend Retail Technology Show?
Retailers, consumer brands and leisure and hospitality organisations attend free, per the organiser's policy. Technology solution providers and students buy a pass; exhibiting is the alternative route for a supplier, and nobody under 18 is admitted regardless of pass type.
