Exhibition Stand Builder for CMT Stuttgart
CMT Stuttgart runs 16–24 January 2027 at Messe Stuttgart, Germany's largest consumer show for travel, tourism and caravanning. We design and build exhibition stands for fairs like it, in custom wooden construction or on our DUM FLEX™ frame. Our work on this circuit: a 20 m² Bespoke touring stand for ATG Hospitality, built once and installed at CMT Stuttgart as well as two sister consumer fairs in Hamburg and Munich.

CMT Stuttgart: a consumer show, not a trade fair
CMT Stuttgart is the largest consumer show in its category: ten halls of holiday, caravanning and leisure brands, open to the paying public and not restricted to trade buyers. That single fact changes what a stand there needs to do.
Ten halls, nine days, one holiday-minded audience
The 2026 edition of CMT drew around 268,000 visitors and 1,660 exhibitors across 10 halls and 125,000 m² of exhibition space, according to the organiser's own show report. The 2027 edition runs 16–24 January at Messe Stuttgart, Messepiazza 1. Nine days against the two or three that most trade shows run, because the audience is the general public planning next year's holiday, not a fixed number of business buyers passing through in a day.
Who is actually walking the aisle
The organiser's published visitor profile puts the average age at 52 and average household net income at €4,170, with 96% saying they would recommend the show; over half plan at least three holidays in the coming year. That is a browsing, buying-minded household audience rather than a technical or procurement one, and a stand built for a trade floor, with spec sheets, a sales desk and room for one conversation at a time, under-serves it.
Where the halls sit
The tourism side of CMT is split by geography: Mahle Halle (Hall 4) is where international destinations present, and Oskar Lapp Hall (Hall 6) is Germany's own tourism offer, alongside separate halls for caravanning and camping. A hospitality or travel brand's stand sits inside that structure, and the hall it is placed in says something about how the organiser positions the brand before a visitor has read a single graphic.
One stand, three German fairs: the touring format
Most exhibition stands are built for one show. ATG Hospitality needed one recognisable environment to appear at three different consumer fairs in three different German cities, without rebuilding the identity each time.
Built once, installed three times
ATG Hospitality's brief was a single Bespoke stand that could travel between venues while keeping the group's hotel brands consistently recognisable. We designed a 20 m² environment around a strong illuminated reception, large digital content, vertical lighting elements and planted surfaces, and installed the same stand at REISEN & CARAVANING Hamburg, CMT Stuttgart and f.re.e Munich. The shared design stayed constant; the touring logistics and venue coordination were managed separately for each city.
Why touring makes sense on a consumer-fair circuit
Unlike a trade-only exhibition, these city fairs mix tourism, food, caravanning, motorcycles and leisure brands in front of the same local-consumer audience, city after city across a season. Designing one stand instead of three means a hospitality brand keeps one visual identity across every market it shows in, and the production cost is spread across three fairs instead of paid for once each. The trade-off is logistics: the stand, its graphics and its fittings have to travel and be re-installed to the same standard three times, which we run end to end: design, technical adaptation, production, graphics and digital content, logistics between cities, installation, on-site operations and dismantling at each venue.
Presenting to a German consumer audience from outside Germany
A brand does not need a German office to show at CMT Stuttgart. Brief, design and stand management can run from the UK, with the build and installation handled on the ground in Germany.
Brief and design run remotely, on calls scheduled around your hours, with the venue paperwork translated where the organiser requires it, and the on-site programme, covering installation, staffing support and dismantling, managed on site by Dum Event. If the same stand is also booked into other German or European city fairs in the same season, we plan the touring schedule and the logistics between venues as one project, not three separate bookings.

When and where is CMT Stuttgart 2027?
16–24 January 2027 at Messe Stuttgart, Messepiazza 1, Stuttgart, Germany. Dates and venue are published by the organiser, Landesmesse Stuttgart, on messe-stuttgart.de; we design to the current exhibitor conditions for the edition you are booked into.
Is CMT Stuttgart a trade show or open to the public?
It is a consumer show, open to the paying public for its full nine-day run, not a trade-only exhibition. The organiser describes it as the world's largest consumer trade fair for tourism and leisure, and its own visitor profile is holiday-planning households, not technical buyers.
How big is CMT Stuttgart?
The 2026 edition, the last to complete, drew around 268,000 visitors and 1,660 exhibitors across 10 halls and 125,000 m², per the organiser's show report. Figures for the 2027 edition are not published yet.
Can one stand design work across several German fairs?
Yes, if it is built and planned for it from the start. Our ATG Hospitality stand is one 20 m² Bespoke design installed at REISEN & CARAVANING Hamburg, CMT Stuttgart and f.re.e Munich in the same season, with the touring logistics and venue coordination run as a single programme.
Do you handle logistics between cities, or just the build?
The full programme: design, technical adaptation, production, graphics and digital content, logistics between venues, installation, on-site operations and dismantling at each stop. You ship nothing and manage nothing between cities.
How much does an exhibition stand at CMT Stuttgart cost?
It depends on plot size, whether the stand shows once or tours to several fairs, and how much of the build is custom. A single-city stand and a three-city touring build are different projects with different budgets. Send us the plot, the cities and the brief, and you get a straight answer.
